Overview

Beneath the Turkish Sky is a ten-day cultural retreat through Türkiye, unfolding from the layered streets of Istanbul to the carved silence of Cappadocia. This journey is designed for the culturally attuned traveler who values depth, design, and story. We begin in Istanbul: hammams, rooftop dinners, Bosphorus views, and the call to prayer tracing each moment. We gather with whirling dervishes, walk ancient markets, sip tea over card games, and move at the rhythm of the city. Then, we head east to stone villages, cave hotels, sunrise balloons, and stillness. In Cappadocia, time stretches. We cook, rest, wander, and watch the light change. This is Türkiye, a passage through place, presence, and the wide open sky.

Turkey has a way of stirring something deep within you. Through the call to prayer, the layers of history, and the warmth of its people, it’s a place that invites you to slow down and feel its rhythm.

I’ve long been drawn to this country and have family who call Istanbul home, making this journey especially meaningful to me.  Türkiye is well known for its hospitality and superb blend of European and Asian culture. Explore the classics of central Istanbul, with a whirling dervish ceremony + lesson, a Turkish bath, the Grand Bazaar, and the Blue Mosque.
Guided by the spirit of Sufism, this retreat invites us to experience devotion as movement, art as prayer, and connection as a living practice.

Reviews

I went to Nepal with this group recently and it was an amazing experience! It was my first retreat with Satsang Adventures and it most definitely won’t be my last. James and Kristin made sure everyone was taken care of, and the entire trip was well thought out, planned, and executed. I had a great time, and I highly recommend going on a trip/retreat with this crew!

Amy Woodcock

I had an amazing experience. The accommodations were comfortable and beautiful and the food was incredible. I had sooo much fun getting to know everyone … and the entire experience was truly memorable and appreciated!

James Roland

I could tell you how amazing the retreat was, how it brought out much needed clarity, and how you'll leave feeling a happiness most people don't experience. But those are just words. Words help you understand, but experience allows you to know. And if you want to know what it's like to be lighter, think clearer and feel happier, then I highly recommend Kristin's retreat!

Traveling with Satsang Adventures was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. I went on the metamorphosis retreat in 2023 and truly transformed. Satsang Adventures is the most knowledgeable, loving, safe and supportive people I’ve ever had the opportunity to share such sacred space with. I left my experience with forever friends, new found confidence and healing. The space these two hold for healing and community is unmatched. I would recommend any experience with Satsang. It will change your life if you let it.

Perry Hutchins

It was amazing. Opened my mind to another wonderful part of this life we all share. I was a beginner to meditation going in, and the hosts were so supportive and wonderful. For that matter, the entire group was very welcoming and encouraging. In addition to opening up my mind to endless opportunities, I met lots of beautiful humans in the process. I highly recommend any event that Satsang Adventures is facilitating, as their kindness, love, and expertise shines through.
